Well we finally got the sod laid in the backyard. The winter grass never really caught on so it has pretty much been a dirty muddy mess back there. The children couldn't get enough of the new grass! They all wanted to lay on it and take their shoes off and walk around on it. On Monday we had an Easter egg hunt. The children were awesome hunters and found the eggs quickly even though some of the hiding spots were really tough. They were excited to open them and eat their candy. I am always amazed at how aware the children are of their friends and making sure everyone has candy. They are awesome sharers! We also finished off the rest of the vegetables from the garden this week. Next week will be our early spring planting. The children worked really hard this week! We are so proud of all of them.

Spring break was this past week and although it was a nice break we really missed seeing all the children. The previous week of school we focused a lot on math. The children worked on multiplication, division, addition and subtraction with the help of fun games. We also have a new money game that was a big hit. The children also enjoyed learning about insects. We read books and sang songs about insects and spiders. We have to apologize for our picture taking or lack there of. We keep forgetting to get out the camera and snap some shots of the children working and playing. Hopefully we will get the hang of blogging eventually.

This week the children helped harvest some vegetables from our garden. We had radishes, cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. They helped wash and cut them to prepare for lunch. We are planning our early spring planting some of the items we are going to plant are: asparagus, sweet corn, cucumbers, melons, tomatoes and herbs. The children are really looking forward to this they love to spend time in the garden.

This week we are noticing that there are several children who are working hard on the language works and are very close to reading on their own. It is one of the most exciting things to watch!!

We are putting together our summer schedule we hope to have it finalized by the end of this month.
