The Hot, Sultry Days Of Summer Are Upon Us

The 2008-2009 school year is over, but cry no more........Summer School has begun! Yes, today was the first day of Summer School. We welcomed our old friends and welcomed some new faces. Melanie and Noah are brother and sister and friends of Sevilla and Jameson Groebe. Jameson got to bring his sister, Penny along with him today for her first day of preschool.

We are continuing with the fun classes that were so successful last year, they come after our three-hour work cycle and lunch. I recruited Kari to teach Suzuki Violin as well as Music Therapy. They surely enjoyed it today......learning the names of each part of the violin as well as practicing the notes.

Invite your friends to join us for a fun-filled summer program for the next nine weeks. We will work hard and play hard too! We have lots of fun activities planned.

I just want to recap some of last month's events.......
The end of the school year party at the Val Vista Lakes Clubhouse was so much fun!
Kudos to Urvi and Tara for planning, cooking, putting it all together, and so much more! It was a great success. Before I forget.....if you took pictures that night and you don't mind sharing them, I would love to post them on the Blog.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the gift certificates they are most welcomed!

I really enjoyed visiting with those of you who came by for Parent-Teacher Conferences. I appreciate the time that you took out of your busy schedules to come.

In July......Urvi Shah (Swapna's Mom) would like to offer doing an Infant Massage class. If you are interested or know of someone who might be just let me know so we can do some planning. She will do a fabulous job!

We have the most Wonderful, Supportive Parents around, Thank You!

Look What's Happening Around Here!

Take a look at these beautiful pictures of your children....

Well......can you tell that I am having a little trouble with this........It's not that I don't like writing....really I DO! It's just that I always seemed to have a little trouble keeping a diary or journal as a kid, or even as an adult. I guess I feel like I really need to have something magnificent to say or to talk about to make it worth your while to come visit the Blog.

I don't have that tonight......I just want to tell each of you how grateful we are to have you in our lives. I think that it's a combination of the Christmas season and the New Year that gives us a chance to step back and slow down for a minute and think about all of our blessings, I include each one of you in that.

Your children are learning and growing each day. we see it on their faces, in their posture and in the way they talk to us and their classmates. I hope that you see it too!!

Now for a little bit of Sweetwater Bay business..........February 26 - March 1 I will be attending our annual American Montessori Society Conference in Louisiana. I'm quite excited.....I look forward to it each year......it recharges my battery and I have the opportunity to be amongst my peers. We exchange ideas, reminisce, get no sleep and take in all we can. They allow us to observe other Montessori schools in the area, and because it will be in Louisiana there will be some humanity workshops for us to assist with.

In January we started a Montessori Infant program. It is in Chelsea Read's home (Swayzie and Hudson), we take in children as young as six weeks. The ratio is one to three, we were able to fill it quite fast.

Our vision is to eventually also include a Toddler program, and to all be housed in the same facility.

I will post pictures tomorrow along with how we are spending our time in the classroom.

So stay tuned............

Ms. Carolyn

We want to put together a list of names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses to give to each one of you. A great resource for birthday parties, play dates or carpooling, it will come in handy!
